Dexter! (Season one spoilers inside) →[More:]So after HBO took a turn for the suck, we replaced it with Showtime and became totally hooked on Dexter. We blazed through the whole season this week.

I thought I'd have a problem accepting Michael C. Hall as anyone other than David from Six Feet Under, but he's really good. Scary good.

I was a bit disappointed in who the Ice Truck Killer turned out to be. (As soon as that character was introduced, it was kind of obvious.) And the flashbacks to the shipping crate killings were extremely hard for me to watch. Overall, though, it was a really gripping show. I can't wait for season two. Anybody else?

I didn't like it at first, just because Hall seemed so wooden. And even though that was part of the point, it irked me. I liked it more by the end of the season. Need to re-watch them before the new season starts.

I agree that the killer's identity was obvious from the time he first showed up. (And this is petty, but I think both he and the sister are really fugly, so I had a hard time watching them.)

If you've got Showtime, you should also check out Brotherhood. It's way good.

I did the same thing. I got totally hooked and blasted through the whole series in like 2 weeks. LOVE Michael C. Hall!

Only thing was, after watching it I found myself imagining dead bodies everywhere out of the corner of my eye... "Oh, look! That garbage bag looks like it probably has a dead body in it!" "Oh, wait, is that a dismembered foot in the bushes there?"

That was when I realized it's probably a good thing it's on haitus for now.

I agree, pups. They are fugly. Especially Rudy. He looked like Marc Antony or Anthony or whoever that cadaver married to JLO is.

You know, I've always done that anyway. I don't know if it's because I watch too many mafia movies or just because I grew up in Philly.

i saw the first two eps of season two so i'll just say not to worry about the sucking without source material.
So far.
Everyone but Dexter bugged me but i got use to them. Without Michael to pull it out it would all be mired in predictable muck, but now i care.
Once you actually care, you just hope it doesn't suck so badly all you can think is "i use to like you, you worthless piece of crap."

My husband read both of the books and adores the show. I loved David on Six Feet Under. I halfheartedly tried to watch Dexter. I'm such a wuss with these type of shows and movies. I hide my face or run out of the room.

I thought for sure Ice Truck would turn out to be his sister. Also, though neither of them are at all my usual type, I thought both the sister and Dexter's girlfriend were hott.
