Tube strike misery is my silver lining →[More:]This week (and perhaps next too - another 72-hour strike is planned from next Monday evening) I get three days working from home instead of two. I live near the end of my tube line and have no other way of getting to work.
The downsides are:
- I had to carry tons of files home, but used my wheely backpack so it wasn't too bad, except for the stairs at the stations.
- This meant I had to take the car to the station and there are now no free bays near the station, so it cost me £2.50 to park and it'll be the same on Friday.
The upsides are:
- I can get to the gym on my lunch break every day. My membership is off-peak hours only, so I can't use it in the busy evening times.
- I can get to Kwik-Fit to get my slowly-deflating tyre replaced outside of the rush hour traffic.
- I can stay up late and get up late for the next few days.
- No-one can see me slobbing around in my yoga pants and old t-shirt.
