(While I was out of town, my parnter...I don't know what he did actually, but it involved a broken oven, and cookie sheets that needed to be thrown out. Sometimes it is better not to ask.)

Cool! I have an enamelled Danish-designed paella pan that belonged to my mother (yellow outside, white inside). It makes a great serving dish for really big salads. And holding fruit after a binge at the greengrocer's. How it works as a paella dish, I couldn't tell ya.

I've been coveting a friend's paella pan from Spain for years. Good score!

Here's my first attempt at a seafood paella. I couldn't get my hands on any saffron but my family didn't know any better as it was their first taste of paella, plus fresh mussels weren't available at my market so those are frozen. The perfectionist in me is irked that I burnt the rice a bit so now I have a pan to scrub, but I'm also determined to try a different recipe to see if I can get it right the next time. :)
