Do you like hot dogs? Here is an article about hot dogs by one of my favorite food writers, Jason Sheehan.
That dude needs to hit these two places.

Best. dogs. ever.

I just, tonight, cooked the best hotdogs I have ever cooked (the best chicken too, but that's another story). Perfectly grilled with a lunatics attention, I hovered over them like a mama bird. Just a little blackened and bubbly and split naturally by their own internal steam. I made sauerkraut cooked in PBR and served 'em with yellow mustard. Fucking good stuff.

I like a boiled dirty water dog, but my heart is with the grilled pup in the end.

I like this guy pups, he's got the enthusiasm, which is my main criteria for a food writer, less snark, more being psyched.

I take a catholic view toward foods like this: the penance for 1 hot dog (with the works including fries and shake) is two straight meals of leafy salad with simple oil and vinegar dressings.

Tonight I ate a cheesesteak, so it will be oatmeal for me through Sunday. I can live with that.

straight out of the water, onto a bun

What? He's talking about Nathan's. Nathan's, where the hot dogs are supposed to be cooked on a roller grill.

Maybe they do it differently in Colorado, but boiling a Nathan's dog is not "doing it right" by any stretch of the imagination!
