This is a happy thread. My iPod is back! I had given it up for dead, but last night it struggled back to life for me. Working fine this morning. Thank you, oh gods of mobile listening technology.

Any other small but happy events out there today?

Wow, there must be iPod reincarnation, because last night, my iPod died (well, it was murdered- tried to upgrade the battery with a kit from iPodJuice.com, and pieces broke out of hte inside).

Ahhh, the heat is breaking, and I'm looking forward to a lovely, sunny, mid-80s 4-day weekend, and am even thinking about leaving early today so I can really get the festivities started!

I wore a favourite bra today, one of those with moulded cups, very comfortable if, like me, you're large in the boobie department.

So I got home from work, ready for a shower after the walk from the station (complete with backpack of files on my back) and threw my clothes on the bed.

I just went into the bedroom and found Bailey fast asleep. Like this.

I'm frequently reloading the software on my ipod, just wipe it out and re-install. All the little weirdnesses go away.

Well, I just saw that photo of Bailey, so that's one!

Also, this morning I realized that a (proposed but not executed) Kooky Educational Scheme TM might instead look to outside observers like Defrauding The University TM, but at the very same moment I saw how to achieve the same effect while performing a public good, instead of performing a questionable act. Phew.

Any other small but happy events out there today?

Not today, but a couple days ago: My brother called me on my birthday. We had a pretty serious fight in January and hadn't spoken since. (I was right, by the way.) I didn't expect him to call, because he's really stubborn like that. But he did, and we had a nice, long conversation about football, and things are fine again.

Since I'm going to be headed home under difficult circumstances within the next couple weeks, it makes the load much lighter.

Sorry to de-iPod the thread.
