My new ink! My artist put a pic of my tattoo up on his myspace. :D→[More:]
As you can most likely tell, it was taken just after finishing.

I can't wait to get the other arm done... tomorrow!

The new one tomorrow is actually part of the current piece- they're a matched set. Pin cushion on the left, sewing machine on the right.

Thanks, everyone! I love how he did the pins. If you look super-close you can see he shaded each one, and used white to make it look like light reflecting off them. So pretty!

It really brings back memories of the sewing with my mom. I still have that exact same pincushion, and when I was little I was always so charmed by the little strawberry hanging out with a tomato.

Ah, the strawberry... as a kid, I too couldn't recocile the strawberry goes with tomato thing... Only after years and years of sewing did I find out that the strawberry had an abrasive in it for sharpening the needles... go figure!

Yeah, why a strawberry? Why Why Why Why? Why not a smaller tomato, or a sprig of basil, or something? Why not a hunk of cheese or a bell pepper? WHY A STRAWBERRY??

YES! You're so right, basil or cheese - that would be so much better. THAT was my problem too. Couldn't get beyond that terrible taste idea. Guess the strawberry could be made out of the same fabric and they didn't want to go get another color??

(and ew at that recipe, and I'm a vegan who eats fruits and vegetables all day long. Like a rabbit, I am. Strawberries and tomatoes...no thanks!)
