I watched the pilot and (15 minutes) of the series finale of 'John Of Cincinnati' because I really like Deadwood and most of the other David Milch shows. One word about 'John': wtf. Seriously. Sometimes they do cancel good shows, but this was just weird for the sake of it.
I found it unwatchable, matteo. The fact that they cancelled Deadwood but aired that crap is one of the reasons I cancelled HBO.

For Milch, I felt the same way I feel about my brother occasionally telling me about psychosis:

Whew. I'm glad he got that out of his head.

I TiVo'ed/watched the first 5 episodes -- and lost interest in it.

i was hoping to like it but i wasn't working and i wasn't trying.
There was some point in the middle where it seemed to be pulling together, a stray episode i caught, and i was hoping there was a real point to the stray oddities. It had elements that could have gone somewhere and it's always sad when things get wasted but it wasn't built to last, between trying too hard on some wayward branches and not nearly hard enough on the trunk.

Weeds, on the other hand, is so incredibly entertaining. i just saw the first one of the new season. i'm about to check out if the new Dexter and Californication are any good.
