FRENCH TOAST! I made it as a special post-lease signing meal. →[More:]I honestly haven't had it in years, as I got tired of it when I was a teenager(as with most breakfast foods).

I made it with flax bread and a good splash of vanilla in the egg. I didn't have syrup though (*gasp* I should be kicked out of Canada!) so I sprinkled a little brown sugar on some butter. Mmmm...who came up with dessert foods for breakfast, anyway?

Yum. That gives me a great idea. Plus, carmina just brought me some actual honest-real maple syrup - something I haven't had in at least 10 years.

Mmmmmmm. I started baking my own bread a couple of weeks ago and it's great. If only it wasn't so bad for the waistline *sigh*.

Not bread/toast related, but I got some samphire at the local farmers' market today. Pretty tasty with an initial burst of intense saltiness then a sort of asparagus flavour after that.

I love French Toast and now that it's almost lunch time here, I may finally know what to make for breakfast. When I make it, I can't help but have Fred Lane's French Toast Man running through my head. It usually doesn't have an effect on the goodness of the product, which is a better thing than you might realize.
