Actually, a little lemon would probably make the Schiltz palatable. Why do you think shitty beers like Corona are always served with lemon or lime? It hides the anti-freeze aftertaste.

Gah! I remember in my drinking days occasionally having to hang out with people who drank idiot drinks.

I remember one night in particular when the group of women I was temping with invited me out to a wine bar after work. I was looking forward to my usual wine bar behaviour of topping up my glass much faster than everyone else. But when we got there, they all ordered spritzers.

WTF? Wine and soda water? WHAT THE HELL KIND OF A DRINK IS THAT??!!

And of course I couldn't then order a whole bottle of wine to myself so through gritted teeth I also ordered a spritzer (which was hugely expensive for what was essentially a quarter of a glass of wine), drank it as quickly as I politely could and then headed off to the East End dives I was more used to where people actually drank like me.
