Brooke Astor passes away at 105→[More:]Here's to hoping all the family can make peace, put past feuds behind them, and deal with her estate in a mature manner. HAHAHAHAH, oh, I slay myself.
Our neighborhood is named after that family, in an attempt to get them to move here. But they never did. Sadly stuff like this happens a block from my apartment these days, which made the news today. Amazingly, I was home and heard nothing.
It made me sad to read this -- the NYT did a pretty indepth obituary for her. I understand that a lot of her philanthropy stemmed perhaps from some sense of noblesse oblige, but still, she was a pretty classy dame.
