Yahoogroups is fine. Or google groups. Listservs are pretty simple beasts.

I've used vpop3 as a listserv before. It was pretty easy to set up and adminster (windows only). There's a cost involved.

There's always listserv. It's eponymous, so probably quite good.

Yahoo! is pretty good and I've been on one of their lists for several years. However, my ISP seems to have issues with them at the moment, to the extent that they've even posted a "Why does my Yahoo Groups stuff keep bouncing?" in their spam filtering FAQs. I've not had any problems with Google groups. (Incidentally, my ISP's solution to this problem is to completely turn off their spam filtering. Yeah, because that's going to happen).
