It's Called Gratitude! I just had the best birthday/anniversary weekend ever. How was yours?
You did? Happy birthday and anniversary!

Quiet. I was sick. I am still sick. I have a chest infection.

Unremarkable, but good. Well, I did get to see an old friend I hadn't seen in a long time, so that was very cool.

Cheers, mudpuppie! I will take belated warm wishes over none at all :-)

Even a shitstorm of details and bad news at my day job can't spoil my mood today.

You see, like BoringPostcards, we had some dear friends come to stay with us for the weekend, and it went very well. I love staying up late, drinking beer and listening to records (I'll never get used to calling them CDs). It felt like being in college again.

Feel better Jan!

Spent the weekend cleaning and painting the dining room floor. My answer to that question is going to be pretty similar for the next few months/years.

Glad it was a good one, chuck!

Does that equal "shitty"? If so, sorry to hear it.

Happy belated, chuck! Glad you had a good weekend.

I had a fun weekend. Caught up with an old old friend who lives only 1.5 hours north of me and who I haven't seen for over a year. Went for a good run. Drank some nice wine. Found a new restaurant that we definitely will go back to.

I spent a lot of time worrying about my roommate, who is in the hospital. I apartment-sat. I also bought a few books and interesting Japanese soap for the face. It has charcoal in it and it's black.

I tried a certain local restaurant for the first time. It's cafeteria-style and I was carrying a lot with me so I set all my things down before getting my order. I went back to my table holding a big tray. A kid at the next table jumped up and moved my belongings out of the way so I could set my tray down! It was so touching!

Tremendous, big weekend. Friday, cut a bloody swathe through the Wermacht playing Wii for the first time. Saturday, laundry did itself while I slept, slept, slept, then dinner and dancing all night long at Sullivan Room (we were on Boo's guest list). Walked down to Battery Park to greet Sunday morning, the rest of the day's a blur for you, quite clear to me. Lots of sleep, today I feel great, though the coffee makes me thump-thump-thump again and misspell words, yaar.

Hah! I went to a Hoe-down and danced lots of silly barn-dances (dressed as a bar floosy, natch!). Next day I cooked up a Spanish lunch while the boys played some Apple thing called i-toy or Eye-toy and looked very very stupid.
Drove home with the roof down the whole way M1, M25, A27 fantatic to finally have some summer weather in the UK!

Jan get well soon!

Nah, I sit on my but all weed at the office, it's nice to do some actual physical labor during the weekend.

Exhausting. We'd spent Wednesday through Saturday at Pacific Yearly Meeting (a big Quaker gathering at Redlands), which was my first real exposure to the community en masse and was pretty exhausting from the combination of huge numbers of unfamiliar people and customs and straight-up sleep deprivation. I did meet a lot of cool people and learn to give Thai massage, so that was pretty groovy. Just odd and stressful.

So Saturday was some Quaker stuff in the morning, then lunch and packing up our stuff, picking up coined's father, sister, and neice, playing 3D Tetris with the car trunk, then a bunch of driving and running errands and wrangling an increasingly exhausted 2-year-old, then a 90-minute drive back to the apartment and collapsing and sleeping and computer games. Sunday was a whole lot more of the collapsing and sleeping and computer games (and also Katamari Damacy finally got here!!) And now I have a boatload of work to take care of today, AND we're out of milk.

Happy belated, chuck!

Ours has been quiet, just hanging out at home for the most part. It's the tail-end of a holiday for the mister and he goes back to work tomorrow. *sob*

I spent much of Saturday working but much of Sunday flirting. I'd almost forgotten about flirting. What a nice pastime.

A very happy belated birthday, chuckdarwin!!!!

Sunday was spent at a baby shower for my very good friends' daughter. She used to babysit for my kids, so this is sorta neat.

Spent the weekend on Hood Canal - hiking, communing with the oysters, watching a bald eagle catch fish, and being greeted every morning by a friendly harbor seal poking his head up out of Dabob Bay.
