06 August 2007

I'll be in the Northwest this upcoming weekend. Seattle. Portland. Tacoma. But there are some complications...[More:]
We've turned a wedding into a mini-tour and I'd love to meet some NW mechas in person. The fundamental problem as I see it is that I'll be playing with my band on these nights and since there is a cover charge, I do not want to propose a meetup. And yet, after drafting an email to the Portland folks and digging up the addresses to let them know I'd be in town I realized that a) there were a number of them and b) some folks who I vaguely know I don't know well enough to send an email to. In the end it seemed best to make a post and ask for your forgiveness re the slight self-promotional aspect of the whole thing. Which by the way makes me feel icky. My apologies.

If anyone wants to drop in and say hi I'll be at the following places / times and would love to chat.

Division of Planes Itinerary:
Friday Aug 10th : 8 PM - The Sunset Tavern - Seattle, WA
with Juhu Beach, Birthday Suits, and Madraso.

Saturday Aug 11th : 8 PM - The Red Room - Portland, OR
with Juhu Beach, and Straightedge Buddhist Strippers.

Sunday Aug 12th : 6 PM - Bob's Java Jive - Tacoma, WA
with Lew, SHARK!, Lake of Falcons, and Juhu Beach.

PS. I love that little [MI] button. I guess it's been a while since I've posted. :(

Please self-promote again when you play DC!

safetyfork, melissa may and I will be entertaining family this weekend, which means that we're sorry we won't be making it out to see you (in case that matters). Have a great time, though. Enjoy the trees.

Holy crap - you're playing Bob's Java Jive?! HAHAHAHA! I would totally have been up for that, but I won't be around. Now I'm sad.

If you ever cruise through Eugene (Sam Bond's Garage?) I am up for coming and listening and getting you drunk before you go on.

danostuporstar: we are looking at DC for this October.

sleepy_pete: you and MM were indeed on my list of hopefuls. I am going to be taking in all the greenery scenery I can. I've got to store that up for coming back east. The Northwest is still my home.

IRFH: I know! We couldn't get Hell's Kitchen (Tacoma venues have the best names) that night, but Sunday should be a very fun show. I'll be sharing the bill with some guys I used to play shows with in high school. I can't wait to rock inside a coffee cup.

danf: I can comply with that request. We seem to play the Northwest every other summer, I'll keep Eugene in mind!

Damn, the Red Room is out in a part of town that isn't very accessible by public transit (particularly at night) so I am totally unable to attend.

:(

Maybe there's still a stray Northwesterner out there who'll drop by and surprise me! Sorry I'll miss you two next weekend. Next time I'm in town I'll give you all a shout.

Any chance of breakfast on Sunday morning?
posted by Specklet 06 August | 13:58
Breakfast is not entirely out of the realm of the possible, I'm debating whether or not to drive back after the show that night or stay with some friends. There are some other factors, let me get back in touch on that!

The Sunset Tavern is awesome, but I think I might have other plans that night. But I'll make a note of it in case my friends and I want to come by after our plans.

I'll be at the Sunset. We'll light 'em and blow 'em out! Whoot!

Sweet. Should be fun. The bands on the bill Friday are hot.

Does this mean we can catch your band after or before Bunnystock? Would you be playing Baltimore?
posted by ethylene 06 August | 17:18
ethylene, I'm trying to negotiate something along those lines but it's all very tenuous right now. For October, we're working with another band so we don't have as much flexibility with the timing and location. Hopefully our outing won't totally conflict with Bunnystock, but I think it partially does. This is why I haven't fully committed to BS II on the wiki. :(

I should know details for October in September.
