It gives me chills. Sure, so do "Jungleland" and the part in "Spirit in the Night" where Hazy Davy gets really hurt, but this one's about love's mystery ("Bruce lag in Liebesbanden"), not teenage death, and it sneaks in, hi-hat padding up the night stairs into the lover's room, through the window, and over the stars beneath.

Also the guitar riff prefigures "Born in the USA." Listen to that cutting lead guitar (played by the Boss himself) -- neee, nee-nee-neer neer / neee, nee-nee-neer neer... -- but there's no shame in ripping off your own song, just ask Smokey.
