Goofy Weightlifting Dance (YouTube) Here is a video of Benni Magnusson, a gigantic Viking from Iceland, deadlifting 426 kg (937 lbs) and doing a goofy warmup dance beforehand. Enjoy!
Speaking of weights, how's the kettlebell MeCha contingent doing? My new one is en route - 12kg. I think the 8kg is too light. Still looking for a local trainer.
I do that very same dance before I lift my two 8kg kettlebells.
As I am a weakling (and because I have a genuinely poor grip in my right hand due to an evil drink-fuelled accident some years ago) the 8kg ones are fine for me. I worked out yesterday - double cleans, double squats, single-leg deadlifts and alternate arm swings. They're good. My butt is still jelly, but jelly within which there are screaming muscles trying to force their way through.
Good for you! I haven't been doing any doubles yet. I will have to be careful with the new 12kg'er - it's a significant increase to my wimpo muscles as well. My legs are stronger than my arms, so I may be doing the 12kg for squats & swings and stick with the 8kg a bit longer for cleans. I like them though - they're fun!
