Update on my stepdaughter's condition →[More:]Thanks to all of you for keeping us in your thoughts. It has been a terribly long ordeal, but she's finally approaching the end of her ICU stay. She's not out yet, but her doctors are saying it's a matter of 4 to 6 weeks, now. Once she leaves ICU, she will go to a regular med-surg floor and then into a rehab facility.
There is a good chance of her being placed on a medical transport plane and sent home, once her condition meets specific criteria set by her Wisconsin pulmonologist. Her mother and support network are there.
This has been one of the most difficult things I've ever gone through. My only fear is that she will do something like this again, but I have no control over that. I just have to keep hoping that her psychiatrists will get her meds right, to stop her psychosis.
