AskMeCha: Is D'Phuzion fat?→[More:]Long story short, my mother has a client who was being teased around the apartment complex by other girls calling her "Phuzion" or D'Phuzion.

I don't see what's objectionable about her. Maybe there's some superficial resemblance? How would this be derogatory?

(And for myself, is her music "old school" or gangsta rap or what?)

Fat? No - her arms are far too skinny. Perhaps a large person who's into non-healthy means of getting "healthy/skinny?"

She does not look heavyset at all from the pictures. Could it be the attitude? Or the hip-hop style music she listens to? Or her associations? She as in your mom's client. The other girls might not be into that kind of music or scene and hence to them it is derogatory. It could be as elusive as something she said once that stuck...

Also, after watching the D'Phuzion video--the other girls might be saying that her fashion sense is behind the times, or that she's not hard/real/street/hood/whatnot. Or, yeah, something stuck.
