27 July 2007

I hate everything I hate Delta. I hate LaGuardia. I hate that I waited at the airport for 2 fuckin' hours only to be told that I had just missed my flight (well, *I* didn't miss it, but my bag missed it, and blah blah blah). I will now spend the rest of the night sulking. Thank you.
What happened? Was there a huge line for checking bags?

Yes, due to some weather-related cancellations up and down the east coast, the line was insane. And of course, there's only 2 agents working, going as slooooowly as humanly possible. Gah. I did get a first class ticket for tomorrow morning, which is nice, but waiting at the airport makes me crabby, so I've decided to sulk all night. Pizza is on the way.

I hate the lines for checking bags at the NYC airports. In most airports it's no wait at all. I wonder if it's a security thing? I haven't had a problem at other high volume airports like SFO, O'Hare or Atlanta. Maybe Heathrow and LAX are bad too.

Oh well. Enjoy the pizza.

Yuck. I've been there; it sucks.

It's not security, it's the airlines being completely incompetant and unprepared for anything. Flights getting cancelled because of bad weather isn't even something completely out of the ordinary. Gah. Pisses me off.

Ooo, first class. Score.

(Bummer about the delay, though. Enjoy the pizza!)

Yea, assuming everything goes smoothly tomorrow (which is something someone cannot assume these days), it will be a pretty good deal, overall.

TPS would it cheer you up if i mentioned i got my very first pedicure EVAR yesterday so that i could spend all day today tip-toeing around in my very cutest, most extravagantly dangerous pair of strappy platform high-heeled sandals?

eh, likely that doesn't mitigate the outrage of airport shittiness, and for that i have vast sympathy and not much advise.

here, how about i email you a scoop of homemade lime sorbet. the dude found his dad's old ice cream freezer last week and we've had a frozen treat orgy. ORGY, i say.

and they *are* damn cute shoes. green mock-croc leather, brown stacked wood heels and little bronze accents. got 'em for seven bucks on closeout at DSW.

pedicure is matching goldy-bronzy theme. i might get used to this.

Pedicures are pretty exciting, good for you! I need one desperately, and I meant to get one before my trip, but I didn't find the time. Which is probably good, because my sister desperately wanted to go with me for pedicures in FL. Bah, I should be in FL right now! On the ground! Calling my sisters and saying I'm heeeere and then getting off the plane and jumping up and down with them. Instead I'm here. Boooo. BOOOOOOO.

Two hours, huh? Count yer blessings, TPS.

I can hardly restrain myself from a rant against both DELTA and LGA. For the best of all of us I shall keep quiet, but mistake not, I hate.

Have a nice trip PinkyPink.

pah, at least you don't have to contend with Northwest, that friggen airline makes me want to pull my hair out, and it is the dominate major airliner in the area, gah!
Anyway, enjoy the pizza and the plush seats on the morrow.

If it helps (or, for the sake of empathy), I totally had a shitty day as well trying to leave town. Had everything planned, schedule set for half a day, completely set to get home, finish packing, take care of the dog and load her up in the car to drive the 250 miles north to Tulsa and....

nail in tire. Feck.

Took the car to the tire place, was told it would take 30 or so minutes. I drove out an hour and twenty minutes later. By the time I got home and started to take care of everything, I realized that I was nearly two hours past my goal 'hitting the road' time and would be caught in horrid shitty rush hour on a Friday traffic.

Sod that. I'm aiming to leave at 7 in the AM and spend a grand total of 28 hours with the 'rents, most of which will be spent either dealing with 3 hyper-ass dogs running each other around or trying to calm them down while they sleep. Fun!

But did you forget to pack anything?
posted by rhapsodie 28 July | 01:08
So far, it doesn't appear I forgot anything! And the dogs haven't killed each other yet! SUCCESS!

I got to the airport this morning at 5:30 a.m. for my 7:40 a.m. flight. The line for check-in looked almost twice as long as the line last night. I nearly started to cry, but then I realized- I'm first class! I can go through the first class line-which is empty! Oh, what a great relief that was.
