Recommended OS X-specific additions to the list: Seashore (a friendlier, pared-down GIMP), and Pixen (image editor designed for pixel artists).

Warning: my virus protection went crazy when I went to the Pixen site. There's an infected compressed file that is loaded through the HTML_IFRAME on the site.

Apart from that, nice find, seanyboy!
