Good news for bees! I'm actually very happy about this.
It definitely needs to be futher investigated (and I say that only because so many other theories have come and gone) but it does look promising, yeah. Reuters reported this as well.

Oddly enough, me too!* I've been worried about the bees, in a sci-fi/ apocalypse/ end of the world as we know it kind of way. As Miko says, it must be investigated thoroughly, but this is the first sliver of ease I've seen. Thanks, Specklet!

*grain of salt alert: I'm on my second strong drink, so I'm happy about a lot of things.

On my job, the other day, I was having a guy move a hive out of an irrigation box, and he said something like he thought it was "pesticides" that were the culprit. Well, that is a pretty broad range of stuff, and many pesticides have different biological targets, with which to do what they are supposed to do.

On the other hand, I just ran into this:

"Nosema ceranae certainly is a stressor, but it
doesn’t seem to be the smoking gun that we were looking for."
