Yeah - it's pretty difficult to get worked up about this. It's like complaining that people are snooping if you do illegal stuff outside their houses and they watch then report you for the same.

If they got fined for having the same pictures posted on a physical campus noticeboard, then nobody would be making any noise about it at all.

Pah, they should have gone to a proper university.

The student union advised students with Facebook accounts to change their privacy settings to prevent staff and faculty from viewing their profiles and photographs.

... And in other news, Oxford University Proctors have just announced that they themselves have matriculated as students, and will be joining facebook as such. A representative of the Proctors, speaking on condition of anonymity, called the student union "Unalloyed dumbasses for thinking that profile privacy settings offered a gnat's asshair of protection."
