This lady from Kiev is probably the only one who cares about the lost dogs on the streets of this city.
What a touching story, and those photos are wonderful... sort of sad, but hopeful and beautiful at the same time.

Nice photos. Dickheadish comments.

Interesting how the comments section devolved in to "I hate Chechens, I hate Serbs, I hate Albanians," etc...

Yeah, every englishrussia post ends up with a bunch of crap comments like that.

Fantastic photos - and, what BP said.

Now I'm glad I didn't read the comments.

It could be worse. At least there weren't any Harry Potter spoilers.

Voldemort is Harry's father.

1) I love how they have a painting of Pushkin in their house.

2) When I was in Russia, there were homeless dogs everywhere in the city. They weren't doing much - just sort of laying about, hanging out in packs of four or five. Apparently, nobody just gave a damn.

I bet those dogs give that woman and the other homeless living with her some much needed joy in their lives. When I get out from under my debt rock I'd like to travel and help folks like her.

Fantastic stuff, cmonkey. I now have a new answer to the "what would you do first if you won the lottery?" question. 'Course, I guess that require my entry into the lottery.

That said, it raises a ton of logistical questions. Presumably the vast majority of these dogs aren't altered, and with that many around, wow, I can just see some serious problems arising. I guess Ukriane probably doesn't have the risk of heartworms and other infections that people have to deal with around here, but it'd be a pity of some major viral strain that could be innocuated against moved in and knocked out a large percentage of her kiddos.

But yes, beautiful, beautiful photos.
