Do you wear ties? Look here. Cyberoptix TieLab, from Toybreaker at Etsy is yummy. [More:]
The poppy ones are elegant but I thought a lot of the designs were a bit too 'novelty'. And novelty ties, like novelty socks, should not even exist, let alone ever be worn.

Those are some sweet ties. My sister is getting married next Friday and I'd love to wear one of those. I've ordered one and am crossing my fingers to see whether they can get one to me by Thursday.

Note: I ordered a poppy one! Some (most) novelty ties are hideous. With these, though, most are a little novelty but you could carry it off. Novelty ties like Daffy Duck, Simpsons etc, though are inexcusable.

What you want is a nice tie from Infectious Awareables...

Wow - those are some pretty damn cool designs. I understand the look they're going for, but the colors don't work for me, so I don't think I'd pull the trigger on buying one. I wish they had some of those designs in smaller repeating patterns - which I know defeats the purpose of the in-your-face design, but it'd be easier to fit into my tie repertoire.

I've never seen this disclaimer before: All items are from a smoke-free and pet-free studio! The smoking makes sense, but is there a problem with ties being made in a studio with pets?

Very interesting, even if this stuff is not quite my style.

I suspect that some of those designs -- the gas mask patterns and the meat grinder patterns, for example -- would look better on a t-shirt than on a narrow strip of silk.

Thanks for posting this.

They'd look great on a T shirt. I've also come to the conclusion that some of them are quite emo. So, although I do like a quite few of them, being associated with emo kids is not something I need.

Slack: It's probably meant as a cut on Rogan Gregory, the hipster clothing mogul.

No, pet-free is a common disclaimer on etsy. (I've seen it on ebay, too).
I always assumed it was so people with allergies wouldn't worry about something arriving that might have cat hair on it or something. And, if you sew at home you can try your damnedest to lint brush, keep the cat out, whatever... it doesn't work. It just gets everywhere.
