One of the reasons I'm so glad I moved back to Portland is that we have the best chain of supermarkets EVER.Case in point: What produce is local this week?

And, lets be honest, there are far more hot employees at New Seasons than there are at Fred Meyer. I just wish they'd build one on MLK so I don't have to go to the craptastic Slaveway all the time.

For those of you who aren't from Portland, New Seasons is sort of a cross between a Safeway / Stop & Shop / Pathmark - type supermarket and a Whole Foods / Wild Oats-type place.

They've got all the fancy organic stuff (although they tend to choose local over organic-but-from-New Zealand, at least for the most part), AND stuff like Coke and Fritos, and similar major brands.

I love love love it.

Also, their cheese section is phenomenal, and their butchers are great.
