Harry Potter in IMAX 3-D! My friends and I got the last 3 tix to the last showing of the night and I'm super exited[More:]despite the fact that we can barely remember what happened in the other 4 movies. Or the 6 books, which we've all read and promptly forgotten.

But 3-D, whoo-hoo!
Excited, even. Forgive me, I spent all day getting allergy tested and I'm a bit looped out.

That sounds awesome! Report back and tell us how it was, Sass... we're going to go see it this weekend (non-3D, though!).

We saw it yesterday afternoon. Much darker than the previous ones.

I saw it Wednesday evening. Overall, it was pretty good. What they do, they do very very well, but it is the shortest movie, based on the longest book, which probably shouldn't have been the case, IMHO. Gary Oldman kicked all kinds of ass as usual.

Best thing about the movie?
NO quidditch match!

Just got home from seeing it!

Mostly pleased though not thrilled the way I was with the third. There were a few directorial decisions that I was not thrilled with and a few that *really* distracted the crap out of me, but overall it was pretty well done and notably less jerky than HP IV was. The kids are much better actors at this point although I think they're looking a little old for their roles.

I wish it had been about half an hour longer. It could have used the extra time.

Some SPOILERS, nothing too revealing though!

The movie did seem a bit short, but then again all the kickass 3-D action made it totally worth it. I am now trying to figure out how much I would like it without the spectacle of having Harry wagging his wand just a few inches from your face.*

Definitely more serious in tone, I feel in some ways like it's stronger for it because they aren't trying to make everyone happy. They show a few flashbacks to young Harry and christ, but how he's grown! Then again, I'm sure in a few months I won't remember anything about this movie except that the final 20 minute action sequence was all 3-D and shit.

*Intentional innuendo as there is SO MUCH veiled innuendo in this movie, both hetero- and homoerotic. I really find it bizarre but probably targeting those just hitting adolescence.

I'll wait until I can use the AAA coupon, which won't be until Monday after next.

ooh yes! I saw this yesterday! I enjoyed it far more than I was expecting to, and am now really excited (far more than a 28-year-old has any right to be) about the seventh book. Gary Oldman makes me swoon. As would Michael Gambon, were he a little younger. Didn't like Hermione's (Emma Watson?) acting this time.

SassHat, I might have to watch it again to pick up on the homoeroticism...

I am sure I must have seen HPIV but can't remember a thing about it. Don't know if that's the film's fault, or my dodgy memory.

I imagine that it's a little short because book five suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks. [everyone thinks Harry's a liar for 5000000000 pages, then there's a big battle at the end] They probably shot some more of it and cut it out; it's not like they had much to work with.

There will never be another HP film as good as Azkaban, because they'll never get another director of Cuaron's character. That dude is a fucking genius. The magical universe in his mind eclipsed Rowling's... thus, his film looked spectacular.

Okay, so everybody should tell every kid they know to buy this book/toy now. 'Cuz I designed the damn thing and it ate up seven somewhat miserable months of my life.

On second thought... I just remembered they aren't giving me any profits from it. So screw it. Dagnabbed Harry Potter. Grumble grumble grumble. Hope the deatheaters get him.
