yay me I got a promotion today!→[More:]
Sort of... it's the same job grade as my current one, but a lateral move from marketing to sales, and a decent raise (like getting an extra week's pay every month!)
Thanks! I'm so psyched about it. The best part is I still qualify for my annual merit increase in September.
Well, no, the best part is that in the long run there's a lot more advancement there compared to where I am now. Two levels above where I'd be before I hit the next job catagory, then three levels of that, then management. And each jump carries a raise.
Now, there's just two positions above me before you hit management. So it's easy here to basically be done with your career advancement at 35 or so, unless you want to manage people, and get nothing but a small percentage merit raise every year.
