US news with hopefully happy endingfilter: [More:]

Has anyone heard what happened to the sisters (2 little girls 9 and 3 I think) who were missing from somewhere in the midwest (I think) two days ago?

The story (the mom left them home and went to work for 6 hours and when she came back they were gone) was all over the tv news the day before yesterday, and now I can't find any mention of it at all online, even going back several days worth of archives at some news sites.
not sure if it is the same story, but a WI father was nabbed in N MN a few days back for abducting a few of his kids and running, was a big Amber Alert. Then again it was four kids from two ex wives

I couldn't find any active Amber Alerts at the national website (NCMEC), searching back two weeks. Of course, this may not have been a case that triggered one, because generally those are only issued if they have a lead for the public to look out for, like a license plate.

Two much younger boys were briefly reported missing in Mentor, Ohio, but were found with their noncustodial father. Nothing about the mom leaving them at home, though. Usually custody "missing" cases are overstays.

None of those is the one I'm talking about, but thanks for looking. I don't understand how a story that was all over the news on tv could not even be a blip in an archive on an online news site. It was three days ago (now), two little girls. I wish I could remember a name or a state.

Could it be the Bradley Sisters, ico? All the info matches your description, except it happened six years ago, and the anniversary of their disappearance was July 6, with some press coverage about that. (Sadly, no happy ending yet.)

I didn't even think about that one. That definitely fits the description.
