I'm going to see it just because of Brad Bird. The Incredibles, Iron Giant, and Family Dog rank among some of the best movies/shows I've ever seen, nevermind the best animated ones.

Yeah, I keep hearing it's great, but not why.

1. From a technical standpoint, the best CG animation and texturing I've ever seen.

2. From a cinematic standpoint, it creates a fully realized hybrid of fantasy and reality that is totally idiosyncratic and, somehow completely believable.

3. From a story standpoint, it's heartwarming without being cheesy.

4. From a culinary standpoint, they got the food stuff right.

5. From a cuteness standpoint, it's fucking ADORABLE.

I welled up in several sections yesterday when I saw it, despite two power outages in the theater which interrupted the showing.
