Happy Independence Day! It looks like the rain is clearing and the baseball game is on! Now to root through my closet for something red, white, and blue to wear.

I just spent three hours with some of Pips' brothers geriatric friends from the synagogue. They talked about their health a lot. The strongest beverage in the house was Diet Coke. Here at her mom's I've located some 10-year old Budweiser (I am not kidding. I drank it, if I die, I love you all...dxvc nbxsZA...just kidding) and a 20 year old bottle of Old Crow her late father left behind. It's my reward.

Also Calvin Coolidge and my great-aunt...who related a story in her memoir about how she literally ran into him on a trip to DC and gushed to him how thrilled she was that she had the opportunity to live in the US (I've posted earlier how she was born in the states and was the main reason why the family was allowed to stay here)--right around the time he had restricted immigration. I am second/third generation USAin; all of my greatgrands and grands came here legally. I do not have a problem with people who are here legally, but for those who say they want a better life: birth control, feminism, education--and no, I have no idea how to get people to realize that these things mean something.
