Well, that attempt at fancy formatting didn't work at all. :(

I was listening to the radio at work today and heard "The BBC's correspondent, Alan Johnston..." and my heart sank, but then, well you know the rest. I'm sure it will have been a very stressful experience for him, but at least he's made it.

I was delighted to see this. Like you, I feared the worst for him.

Signs had been looking up for days but this is still wonderful news.

I'm pretty happy about this. Go Hamas. Oh, wait... that came out wrong.

I heard about this on the radio this morning... excellent, excellent news.

That news was one of the lead stories on public radio this morning. They played a brief excerpt of an interview he gave after release. I don't think I could have been as calm as he sounded.

Must be an odd thing to be a reporter who is now being the "subject" of a story and being the interviewee instead of the interviewer...

All the best to him and his loved ones as they try to get their lives back in place!

Good news. I'm so glad they didn't kill him.

Ah, it was indeed 'go Hamas', insofar as they spent a lot of political capital to get him out. Hamas didn't capture him - it was Army of Islam, a new group quite opposed to Hamas.
