Fish story! North Carolina man reels in a piranha. My favorite part:

When Melton opened the fish's mouth with a pocketknife, he said the fish bit down and left an impression on the blade.
So much for swimming or tubing in the Catawba. Yowza!

I'm sure the local Fox TV station is preparing an expose on "Killer Fish Invading Our Rivers" and warning that next time your kids go swimming they might be eaten alive!

I would have known that to be a pirahna if I saw it, but those teeth sure would have gotten my interest.

I guess they usually aren't interested in people much though, mostly just injured animals and other fish. So that's a relief.

Yes, but did it skeletonize a cow? Piranhas love to skeletonize cows.

Eek, just one step closer to encountering a Candirú in a very unpleasant situation.

I read this yesterday. Freaky.

In the Keys we had a few baby baracuda on our lines, but their teeth snap the line before you can bring them up. Which is sad, because then they have a hook in their mouth.
