I just did my annual update-of-wardrobe shopping trip at Old Navy. I go shopping roughly every other summer and every other winter for new clothes, unless there's some kind of drastic change in size going on.

I got two pairs of these, in dark green and camoflage, both of which make my ass look exceedingly hot; a pair of khaki capris; three pairs of shorts (I had no wearable shorts...sad!); a bikini ($20!); and about five tank tops, identical except for color (and identical to the ones that are already in my closet except, like, newer). Oh, and a pair of jeans (I was down to one niceish pair of wearable jeans and one not-very-nice pair of wearable jeans). Spent about $200, but I haven't bought new summer clothes in ages.

My usual shopping strategy is to find an item that I like that looks good on me and then buy a large number of them in different colors, usually black/grey/white, red, blue, green, brown, and sometimes dark orange. All of my accessories, pants, shoes, etc. are chosen to coordinate with this pattern.

And in my closet, shirts are grouped by identical objects and then sorted by color.

I like your system fuzzbean. I do the same thing. I found a pair of shorts I liked at Macy's and bought them in every color.

I used to have a closet grouped by color, I even took a picture. Those were the days. It's hideously unorganized at the moment.

I bought cK One Summer for Stynx to wear- yaaaay pretty smelling boys.

I went to a party at the Lush store in Oakbrook Center. I bought a $6.50 chunk of Sexy Peel soap and walked out with over $60 worth of free stuff. Can't beat that! : )

(Besides all the samples of stuff I got in my goody bag, they had 2 raffles and I won a Very Berry Gift and a big bottle of Flying Saucers Bath Foam, which I ordered in the discon round and LOVE so I'd been hoarding my samples until September when the order comes in - now I don't have to! : ) )

Every time someone links to Lush i have to go through all the bath bombs and and soaps and bars, etc. There's something very masochistic about it, yearning for sparkly colored perfumed waters and jellies...

I don't shop much, but I've been without a lightweight coat for spring, for summer nights, for drizzly days. Last week I stumbled across a long fitted cotton coat in my size, in a a soft pinky-lavender color (like a lisianthus bloom), marked down at the local consignment shop. Yay!
