29 June 2007

InsomniAAAAA! [More:]Between the heat, a nice chest cold, pink eye (not from Scott Baio), and some of my medication, I'm up and exhausted.

Wish I was comfortable and asleep or that my eyes weren't sore and more awake.

On the bright side:
1. the kids are adorable (they're sick too)
2. I performed with my brass quintet 9 hours ago and that went well. We're doing a wedding gig a week from Sunday, too.
3. work is a real mental challenge, but in a good way. I've got about 60% of a 600 page specification in my head and trying to implement a functional software model for it.

What's up with you?
Broiling. But it's marginally less hot today, I think. Lazy. Uninspired. Uninspiring. Hungry.

Freezing, but it is slightly warmer today, probably because it's going to rain. It's Friday night, which is good. But the weekend looms, which is good/bad because that means two days of hard labour.

I am at work, very unenthisiastically coding in a should-be-obsolete proprietary scripting language. We have it cool & showery today. Hope you get some sleep, plinth.

I'm tired. Been out every night this week and I'm feeling it. At work, but I do not want to work.

Heading off to bed. (Sorry.) Looking forward to the forecasted thunderstorms tomorrow, but fully expecting to be disappointed. Also very happy to be one week closer to vacation.

plinth, have you tried taking benadryl? Even just one tab can help get you to sleep. Of course, if it doesn't mix well with your current meds it's not a good idea. Check with your Dr. or pharmacist.

Just woke up from uneasy sleep riddled with nightmares. When my bedmate told me he tried to soothe me, I told my him about the brief part of the dream cycle where everything changed: I was in a garden, with happy frogs hopping around and a big fluffly cat who kept brushing against my face ---

"That was me!" he burst out! "I was stroking your face!"

Love is a cat in a garden.

OH, the only other pleasant part of the dream: cortex came to visit, and brought many small but cool gifts, all food-related. When he left, the walk beside my apartment was lined with MeChazens and MeFites who gathered to help him home.

Huh?

Waking to the sounds of birds recorded in the Hawaiian rainforest? Very pleasant.

Having turned up the volume on the CD alarm clock so high that said birds sound like they're screeching down from the heavens to STEAL YOUR SOUL AND OMG THEY'RE GONNA GO FOR YOUR EYES! COVER YOUR FACE!!!!? Not really so pleasant.

I've tried Benadryl and it works as expected except for being groggy the next day, which is unacceptable.

Actually, groggy is the wrong word - more cotton-headed, if that makes sense.

I ended up doing some writing, watched some crappy Anime and was about to nod off around 5:00, when my daughter woke up, so it was showtime.

Is Batman actually a superhero? || Why are weather sites so stupid?
