I keep falling asleep at my desk. Hope me! My doctor reduced my nightly pain meds, so I've been having trouble getting to sleep, waking up a lot, etc. I'm SO freaking tired...
Goddamnit! Entertain me, already! Where the Hell IS everybody?! Why i ought....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Are you someplace (physically, geographically, emotionally) where you can get your head below your heart? Even just doing a forward bend (with your knees bent, if that's easier) can get some blood to your head and wake you up a bit.

Ow! My back!
kidding
Okay - I just did the "How do you overcome obstacles in your path?" interpretive dance around the office. People are staring, and I'm probably about to get fired, but I'm a little more awak...............zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Heh.

My yoga teacher actually always recommends handstands for combating fatigue, but... dude. I can't do a handstand when I'm peppy, let alone when I'm yawning.

What about aromatherapy? Go find something bracing to sniff for a while.

Were there the proper obsequies to Ganesh? There should have been much rolling of trunks.

Indoor or outdoor? Rated G to XXX? Themed or topic oriented?
Will there be pie and ponies and will the unicorns ejaculate rainbows?

Don't mind me, i think i need to find some sniff bracing.

cold water on your eyelids works when I'm driving too long.

Otherwise, sprinting around the block works. For about 15 minutes.

I'm in a freakin' cube farm. I can and do go for walks on some nice trails out back, but I'm kinda sore from walking at lunch, still, so I'm stuck doing any performance art inside for now.
Putting cold water on IRFH's eyelids makes s_r more awake? I think some investigation is in order.... :-)

Clench your buttocks!

I say this because a doctor (hey, I'm not saying he was a good doctor, so, y'know, grain of salt) told me that clenching one's buttocks surges the blood around, resulting in a fresh flow of blood through the brain and driving off exhaustion and faintness.

Also, because I'll take any excuse to holler clench your buttocks!

Um, if it doesn't hurt your back. During an orthopaedic exam last week, the P.A. asked me to clench my buttocks! while lying prone on the exam table and to my surprise I found that a) I really couldn't and b) okay, I could, but it hurt my back.

This is more than I've talked about buttocks in my entire internet life. A proud day.

How much longer are you there?
Do get some cold water and apply it where you want.
i just had to delete a bunch of stuff because it was frankly pornographic.

Funny, Elsa, because so much of life seems to do with getting people to unclench their buttocks.

WAKE UP, GODDAMNIT! WAKE UP OR THEY'LL FIRE YOUR ASS!

(does that help?)

Fifteen minutes to go. I was just called in for a brief team meeting to talk about cake. Which I don't eat.
does that help?

It did, actually, because I didn't see your comment on preview, so it just kind of jumped out at me when I posted.
As for the whole cold water sunflower buttocks conversation, I'm embarassed to admit I got the comments mixed up, and now I'm very much awake, but also fairly uncomfortable.
Flo, you don't eat cake because you don't like it! I remembered!

Exactly, Specklet! Did I ever mention the time my coworkers (different company) made me a "cake" out of packaged meat "frosted" with Cheeze-whiz? It was truly a thing of beauty, and a gesture that honestly touched me - especially since it was accompanied by a bottle of Bombay Sapphire Gin.
Yay!!! You got me through it - thanks! I. Am. Outta here!!!!
Odd -- when I've mentioned any pain to my doctor, the first question is "is it affecting your sleep?" (and I am lucky enough that it typically doesn't).

I took that as doctor-speak for "it's not bad enough for me to really bother with." So if you can't sleep because of pain, that can't be good.

Hope you feel better!
