I always hated gimmicky ringtones. Then I switched to this silly ringtone that goes like "Click-Click-Click... Anybody There?... Click-Click-Click... Anybody There?...". And I love it.
Any good silly ringtones out there?

I used to have 'bananaphone' on mine, but it really became very old, very, very quickly. Now I have "Needle in a Haystack" by the Velvelettes.

My phone's always on vibrate mode. The lack of courtesy you people with your "ringtones" display is unbelievable!

The fact that the phone is usually in my pants pocket has nothing to do with anything. NOTHING YOU HEAR?!

Mine plays the theme song from "Animaniacs."

I'm also a "vibrate only" guy. I don't even know what my ringer sounds like, since I haven't heard it since the day I got the phone.

The worst ringtone I've ever heard was a screaming baby. And it wasn't a baby crying, it was this horse, painful shriek that was unpleasant on so many levels. It went off in a Tower Records and I saw about a dozen people all make the WTF face.

Mine plays the "I Dream of Jeannie" theme, unless it's my mom or my partner, in which case it plays the Charlie Brown theme.

Until I typed that I never realized I have two TV themes songs as my ringtones.

Heh, Slack. I bet that was a prankster, not someone who really uses it.

I'm pretty sure there was a study a couple of years back that showed that humans instinctively become alert at the sound of a crying baby.

I have David Gray's "Sail Away." Which tends to make me wistful, hopeful, and depressed by the time I answer the phone. It's a win all around!

I have the theme from the Addams Family, unless it's one of my closest friends, in which case it's I Want to Be Sedated by the Ramones. For a long time I had a terrible .wav of Send Lawyers, Guns and Money and I thought that was the perfect ringtone but after I got the new phone I couldn't be bothered to try to replace it.

When it's not on silent, I've got "In the house - in a heartbeat" by John Murphy. Better known as "that music when they're running away from the zombies in 28 days/weeks later".

It starts out very very quiet and gradually gets louder so it's actually quite civilized.

I assign ringtones to people in my phone book. My brother is the Pinky & the Brain theme, work is Heigh Ho (from Snow White), my mom is Hungarian Dance whatever its called, my friend Sara is the Alias theme, my friend Ben is the Muppets Show theme. And I use the Spongebob theme for various people. Unknown #s get announced. YOU HAVE A CALL FROM xxx-xxx-xxxx. And most of the time I ignore those. because my heart is cold and if it's important they'll leave a message.

Mine is also always on vibrate. the ring is a gentle "ding dong" however. I sent about 32 letters of complaint when I got my new-every-two phone four year ago and the only free ringtones were novelty. Not everyone who needs or uses technology is a 12 year old or a hipster.

Mine is the codec ring from Metal Gear Solid. *nerd*

Anyone connected with the convention I volunteer for gets "Woke Up This Morning" aka the theme to "The Sopranos" because the Con is like "Family."

Everyone I consider my close friends gets "Sexyback" by Justin Timberlake because that song gets my booty shaking, as do all of my friends.

"Tubthumping" by Chumbawamba is my default for everyone else, because I just like the song.

Oh, and all the MeCha Bunnies I have in my phone get an old-time rotary phone ring (they call it "Nostalgia") because being here reminds me of the wonderful friendships I first made when I first got onto the Internet. ^_^

Vibrate only. Since the pager days. Once my pager went off in a restaurant while I was chatting with the wait staff. As I read the message, the waiter goes, "Are you a doctor, or do you just play one on TV?"

My phone intentionally makes it a PITA to switch ringtones. The only way you can is to go online and it costs a fortune. Pisses me off because a) I hate the ringtone that comes on the phone (yes there is only one) and b) I think they meant for me to hate it.

I'd like my ringtone to be the sound of the TARDIS materializing/dematerializing. *shrug*
I have a baby laughing as mine (one of the 23,657 ringtones that came with the phone) and the sound of a manual typewriter reaching the end of a line for text messages. I do have one that yells out "answer the phone, dickhead" but I changed it when it rang once on the train and embarrassed me (plus, you know, kids).
