Quite funny seeing her standing there quite unconcerned, like this is an everyday event.

One of the more surreal things I saw as a child was when my family was visiting Grandpa and Grandma in a small town in Washington State. All of us went out for the afternoon, and when we returned and my grandma opened the curtains facing the backyard, there were three or four cows standing around right outside the window. Turns out they had escaped from a nearby dairy farm and had been making the rounds of houses and yards up and down the block. I was very amused by it.

Oh, I forgot to add that they got spooked, and took off as a herd down to the end of the block to a T-intersection, and took a right, headed directly into the downtown shopping area. Caused a bit of a commotion (although not as much as you might think, since this was not an unheard-of occurrence).

Eponisterical? Or did all the cattle survive?

Deadcowdan? Is that anecdote how you got your handle mayhaps?

Would consumers pay more for milk given by cows deemed to have sufficient swim time?

Hah! I hadn't even considered the eponysterical angle. But no, that's not where the nick came from. No cows died that day. (At least not those cows.)
