I was just reading about that on the blue.
Amusing, but well, annoying. I'm pretty much built like her and don't much enjoy being shown as some symbol of disgust or whatever. Although according to those on the blue it backfired but really, this was surely focus grouped and whatnot. And odds are most people know they'll be jumped on if they say "well, yeah, they are kinda nasty looking" so you only hear the people with a more PC attitude speaking up.
But, still amused, because even though she's the "fat girl" version they still airbrushed the hell out of her.
Box, I found this IHT article which has quite a bit of info about current trends. It's interesting that, according to this, the Brazilian ideal for women was always more fleshy, especially as regards the booty (not as breast-centric as Americans) - but now the upper classes are apparently going for the super-thin look, like everywhere else.
Call me sexist, but when I take a lady out for supper, I expect her to eat; no worries in that department from any of them. Two of those three would make my A-list and the third would be at the top of my B-list.
. . . only hear the people with a more PC attitude speaking up.
The rose petal photo is simply HOT. There's no need to get PC about it.
Perhaps the ads were designed to prey on women's insecurities while at the same time appeal to men. If so, that's evil advertising genius. (I just bought yogurt for the first time in a long time after this was posted on MeFi. It wasn't intentional; I think the ads worked on me. Yogurt . . . women . . . yogurt . . . women . . . mmmmm.)
