Just Between Us... Mystery photography site. |||Please read the explanation before clicking the link||| [More:]

I would post this to MeFi, but the interface is so incredibly annoying, it would just make people mad, plus, it's a free site, and would probably fold with the traffic. So it's our little secret.
______________________________

Open the site in a new window, because it's going to hijack your browser, and resize the page and get rid of your useful browser functions, and just generally make you angry. Once inside, the best way to look around is by clicking "sitemap". The site is safe, it's just a stupid navigation thing.

Is it worth it? Well, you can decide; all I know about this is that the photographer's name is François Fleury, and there are no explanations (that I've found) for some really interesting (some quite strange and surreal shots), other than, usually, where there were taken. I was especially intriqued by the "Kandahar Studios" shots (from Afghanistan; there are two sets, and you'll find them on the fourth row of the sitemap page). I don't know if the photographer took these photos, or what their purpose is, or why they seem to be touched up, etc. Like I said, mysterious. but interesting.

And I love this NYC shot (next to last row):

and this wonderful shot from Zone 5, whatever/wherever that is (second row):

Anyway. Interesting.

Yes, some great photos on that site. And, yes, the interface is sucky beyond reasonableness.

From here you can browse the driectories without having to use the interface.

Haa, the first time I saw this post, I swear it said "Mystery pornography site". And I was thinking, wow, what kind of porn site would taz post....

Oh, no! Don't tempt me!

I actually had a fantastic pornography site lined up for posting at mefi (yes! believe it!), but then it went all wonky, and essentially unavailable. So, so sad. It was a great site, and not at all a one-note kind of thing, very nuanced.

Yeah, I love that site. I've been reading it for the articles.

omie! If I weren't already married, I could almost marry you (except you're maybe too much younger. damn.)...

You could read the articles, and I could look at the images, and then we could fill each other in. [EGREGIOUS PUN]

ATTENTION : Your Opera version should not be compatible with 1000 HORIZONS!

Thanks arse_hat for posting the index.

Yeah, I knew it was totally sketchy in terms of accessibility, but was intrigued enough with the photos to want to post it.

I'm also kissing arse_hat, because I wanted to provide exactly that kind of folder option, which usually I can drill down to - if it's open. But I missed it here, even though I did try by viewing individual images and manipulating those urls. I blame it on Wendell. *shakes fist, wets pants*

the one with the man holding the flowers looks like Dave Navarro as a terrorist. A rock and roll terrorist! *throws horns, does heroin*

Never too young. Certainly not.

:) Okay, I have you in my backup file. I'm pretty sure you would adore me (most people do), but, honestly? It's not likely to overcome the age barrier.

I'm three years older than my husband, and I would be comfortable with, I guess, a sweetheart up to five years younger than me. In some really outlandish circumstances that could potentially present, I could go as low as 10 years younger than me. But, unlikely. Very unlikely. (that's you, I think)

But I do adore "Harold and Maude".

I want to see The Blast- Afghanistan series of photos turned into a feature-length movie. The story going on in my head based on those pics is fascinating.

(It needs to be made by a French director, not in Hollywood though- Hollywood would so screw with the scenes in my head. Subtitles, too.)

I mean, Indiana Jones has nothing on this guy:

Picking up the "Kamaz Hitchhiker" would help advance the plot:

And the caption on this one is, "You don't want to know."

But I DO!

This whole side coversation reminds me of this YouTube. But in a nicer way.

Since you've given the hard limits I'm not about to reveal my age.
