Yet another meetup post Hey guys. For real this time can we sort out a place to meetup next Wednesday in San Francisco. →[More:]I don't think any plans were made. Small_ruminant suggested North Beach but I don't know what that entails. Thoughts?

I believe your hotel is very, very close to the area considered North Beach.

Nope, I am incorrect, but not far off. I think you are in/close to China Town, which is just as cool.

China Town runs into North Beach, does it not? So- all walk-able.

(I only mentioned North Beach because occhiblu is a Specs fan. I'm generally more in favor of places easily BARTable.)

I vote for NB because I really, really want the chance to meet Gaspode, and if it is in the Mission I will not be able to attend because there is no PT from Marin. Waa waa waa... cry baby me.

I'm throwing out a time so we can be done with it: 6:30.

It's halfway between 6 and 7, so it sounds really diplomatic.

And North Beach is great. Let's do it.

The buses suck in SF, so you'll have to call a cab after midnight. You all get to binge on extra-sourdough!/jealous

Bah, the Dirty 30 [and the 45, too] runs right through NB and well enough past midnight for anyone to make a gallant effort at closing places down, not to mention frequently being quite the 'riding' experience. Besides, so long as we stay relatively close in, cabs are cheap to downtown. BART will likely limit us first.

WOO! Are we doing Specs?

WOO SPECS!!!!

Oh, wait, I see we're still on the eat vs. drink thing.

If you want to eat, Italian food and Chinese food are easy to locate. People could meet at a restaurant (the choice of which would kind of depend on how many people wanted to do so) and then head over to Specs.

Or we could meet at Specs and then, if people got hungry, go wander somewhere for dinner.

My issue is that I'm not sure what time I'll be able to meet up with everyone, but I can certainly just bug someone by cell phone to find out where y'all are.

They have popcorn. If people want food, we'll have to either move at such a time or bring stuff in (I'm not sure if the bar owners care, most around here don't).

Picking up from the thread about last Friday: miss lynnster, if you think you can make it on Wednesday, I'll be driving up the peninsula and can pick you up en route if you like. Though I'll be going late-ish as usual, and you'll have to sit in state in the back, since my passenger-side seatbelt recently went SPROING and flew apart.

And loq, we can call and remind you if you'd like.

Also, I'm going to park in the fortune-cookie garage, if I can remember which one it is. I love the fortune-cookie garage. Each parking space comes with a different fortune painted on.
