Some days, it's just fun to sit back and watch a train wreck in progress.
I think the train was far too slow when it went off the bridge. I would have loved to see them launch off in slow motion glory.

However, the video's saving grace was the somewhat sadistic filming of the sinking cars... dropping below the surface ever so slowly...

i was just gonna say the awesome part was watching the bubbles as the cars slowly sunk out of sight.

Why would someone choose to wreck some really cool toy trains that they've invested in?

This video is just more FUD from the model car industry trying to get model America away from safe reliable rail transport.

TheDonF, G-scale trains are designed for outdoor use and pretty much waterproof.

Indeed.

Or is that not appropriate for metachat?

Dersins: Truth be told, that's what I thought BP was linking to originally. I was very surprised to see it was a youtube video.

daaaaaaaaaaaang. i hope the mods here don't find this out of line cos i'd have missed that completely. this may sound weird but reading threads like that makes me strive to be more self-aware of what i post, in hopes i don't come off as a complete asshole. that and it's a good handbook for how, and how not, to publicly debate a dicey topic.

oh who the hell am i kidding...

You know those cartoons where a character gets so angry, their face turns red and steam starts coming out their ears?

I try to avoid Mefi, metatalk, or askme threads that make me feel like that. Maybe I'm more on edge recently, but I feel like every third thread is overly inflammatory.

I love the editing as the train gets closer to plunging into the drink.

danostuporstar: I am glad to hear that because I, too, thought NO! it wasn't worth-wrecking-your-train funny. But then, since the train wasn't wrecked, I laughed. The bubbles were great.
