I have always liked the song Iko Iko aka Jock-A-Mo and thought it was a song of Caribbean origin but it is in fact a New Orleans song. Written by James "Sugarboy" Crawford and first recorded in 1953 by James as Sugar Boy & the Cane Cutters. He never got paid royalties
[More:] despite the fact that it has been recorded by multiple artists every decade since. It was first made popular outside of NOLA by the 1964 recording by The Dixie Cups.

Belle Stars
Breit 'n' Wark
Buckwheat Zydeco
Captain Jack
Cyndi Lauper

There is a regional gas station called ICO, and they've done rips of that song for their jingles.

Thanks arse.
I put these in a playlist, and the play times are kinda funny: 2:54, 3:21, 3:48, 11:16, see if you can guess which is the grateful dead version.
