John Hiatt is someone I have always liked, but this weekend I bought a couple of CD's for a buck. I was thinking that jonmc HAS to be aware of this guy.

It's turned into a guycrush, I'm afraid. (John, not jon.)
He's pretty great, I agree. I first heard of him around the release of Slow Turning, and was sort of surprised when I first saw a picture that he wasn't an old black blues man...his voice has such age in it.

And...Have a Little Faith in Me was our first dance at our wedding. This was before Jewel covered it, and made a mess of it.

Yay John Hiatt!

Hiatt is indeed the man. 'Buffalo River Home' was always a favorite of mine.

I'm surprised you're just finding him, danf.

Here are some of my favorites:

Real Fine Love
Cry Love
Shredding the Document
Crossing Muddy Waters
Lincoln Town
All the Lilacs in Ohio
Pirate Radio

The 2-disk Anthology and Crossing Muddy Waters are must-haves. All of these songs (except for Lilacs) came from those two albums.

Oh I have known about him. Even saw him live a few years ago, opening for Lucinda. And a band I was in covered Riding With the King, back in the day. But I had never OWNED any of this stuff. And I am really liking the sound.

Hiatt is diggable for sure! I really like Slow Turning

"and I'm yellin' at the kids in the back
cause they're bangin like Charlie Watts..."

Buffalo River Home, Cry Love, Thank God the Tiki Bar is Open, and Everybody Went Low. *runs to dig it out, rip & upload*
