Three more 70's one hit wonders. + 3 for chewatadistance.
I still love 'Video Killed The Radio Star'.

Nick Lowe a one hit wonder? Bite your tongue!

He is by definition LarryC. One top 40 charting and never another. I Love the Sound of Breaking Glass

In the US, "Cruel" was his only single to get into the Top 40, sorry. But I still love "And So It Goes" so much better... (hint hint)

"I Love The Sound Of Breaking Glass" was taken off the jukie after one night in my local pub because people smashed glasses on the stone floor in time to the music.

So It Goes

AWESOME. A friend just asked me to put "Cruel To Be Kind" on a CD for him, and I realized the only copy I had of the song is on vinyl. (And I haven't owned a record player in about 20 years.)

I love "Video Killed the Radio Star" too, ej- in fact, I liked a lot of the Buggles' songs.

i love nick lowe. and dave edmunds. and i have this very odd problem of mixing them up. rockpile made that some sort of very minor but permanent disability.

I confess to a monumental crush on arsey! *whuffles galore* Would you like any Jimmy Buffett or REM tunes?

HEY wens!!! Didja see your birthday thread dollink? Dave Edmunds is a fave of mine as well.

wens, I always confuse Nick Lowe with Nick Gilder, who sang Hot Child in the City.

Here are a couple decent cheap turntables: belt-drive, direct-drive (good for beginning DJs, otherwise not so much) and low-end audiophile (if the rest of your stereo isn't equal or better, save your money) (there are also some nice portable turntables these days, but unless you're planning to take it with you to the record show or swap meet or whatever, you probably don't need one).
