It's true. The meetup in AZ wasn't enough--I have to go to other states to satisfy my meetup jones.

Eddie Rickenbackers is a pub on 2nd between mission and howard, on the edge of the financial district. Food is decent, beer selection is decent, and the drinks are strong. It is rarely loud & crowded and the people who crowd it are not the annoying type anyway; the owner is an utter bastard but I guess that adds to the charm. Plus the collection of vintage motorcycles is amazing and generally good conversation fodder. It's two long blocks from the Montgomery Muni/Bart station, and a large, reasonably priced & open-late parking lot is around the back. It's across the street from 111 Minna, if that helps. Also nearby is Zebulon - another possibility.

This Rickenbackers place sounds fine to me.

Claudia_SF made a list of other establishments in the previous thread, if anyone cares to suggest another venue.

Zebulon closes early -- I was going to suggest it earlier, but I think they shut down at 7 or 8.

I *like* North Beach on Fridays, and public transportation is why drinking was invented (wait, maybe the other way around....). So I am going to be pouty for 37 seconds about changing plans.

OK. I'm over it. I had no idea what Eddie Rickenbackers was called, but I keep walking by it and wanting to check it out, so that would be fine with me.
