I like hissy fits. They make me laugh.

I have HAD IT with these motherfu.... oh, never mind, I just don't have it in me.

Seriously. My daughter does a pretty good job of accepting "no", but on a few occassions, she's had complete meltdown conniptions. And my reaction, as much as I try to fight it, is to laugh. The idea of getting that upset about anything just strikes me as so absurd that I just can't help it.

Maybe that makes me a bad dad. Or maybe she has so few of them (seriously, only 2 or 3 in her entire life) because my reaction is to laugh at her, not to give her what she wants just because she's making a scene. You're not embarrassing me, sweetie, only yourself. Heh.

Playing it cool or getting the giggles is a great way to turn off a temper tantrum. I heartily approve.
