Sanjaya Claims "Idol" Persona Was Really Just A Human Art Project -- in a videotape sent to TMZ.com, Sanjaya claims to actually be Bill Vendall, a graduate art student at the Rhode Island School of Design. He "created" Sanjaya as part of his thesis, explaining, "The character was part of a larger art installation."

People maazine reported that Sanjaya is taping a reality show produced by the producers of American Idol. I would imagine this is part of that.

Wow, those homophobic & racist comments are depressing. Nothing brings out the misanthrope in me more quickly than youtube or youtube-like comments.

That said, he did come across as a incredibly arrogant, pretentious, and not at all articulate. I liked his former personality a lot (or what I saw of it from internet clips, as I've never watched American Idol) -- this one I could care less about.

But are we even sure it's him? Are those gigantic glasses hiding something?
