Smoke! Ugh! We woke up this morning to find the house, and in fact the whole neighborhood, blanketed with smoke from the wildfires in south Georgia. (link goes to a local station's tower-cam view of the city)→[More:] It doesn't even smell nice, like a campfire or a fireplace- it smells like someone burning trash. I'm hoping hot tea will wash the taste out of my mouth.

Enjoy what we in north Florida have been breathing the last month, BP. And prepare for the sun fading to a dull orange disc about 5:00 p.m., instead of your usual daylight savings time extended evenings...

It has been smoky down here too. There were fires in Flagler county, and the wind blew the smoke down my way. The wind also brought the smoke from the North Florida and Georgia fires toward us. I haven't smelled smoke this week, thank goodness. Where is the rain? I fear for the animals and my lawn.

Yeah, I was in northern Florida two weeks ago, and it was pretty bad. Big flakes of ash from the sky and everything. Man, I hope it starts pouring soon.
