Of course it got ugly fast. Just as there are Republicans who despise Shrub, there are Democrats who think the Clintons did more damage to this country than all Republicans combined.

The ugly hasn't even started yet.

It didn't get politically ugly (which wouldn't have seemed so ugly to me -- it just would have seemed political). It got sorta sexist ugly. Bitch? Slut? Evil woman?

I have mixed feelings about her myself. Still, I know it's a tired trope and all, but people wouldn't say that shit about her if she was a man.

Sure, sexist ugly, and like I said, this is merely the warm-up period. Once the primaries start, half of this country will be awash in sexism.

Then if she does get the nomination, not only will the sexism be ratcheted up yet another notch with the advent of the Republicans into the fray, but I think we will see this country even more deeply divided than it is now. Hillary is not a uniter.

I think Ms. Clinton is kinda hot, but I'm all about empowered kick-ass women in suits, so I'm rather biased and weak on this facet.

I wouldn't, however, vote for her. This has everything to do with the fact that my opinion of her is that she's a shrill idiotarian and a scheming sonofabitch, and nothing to do with the fact that she's a woman.
