Why Not the Worst? Joe Queenan writes, in the NYT Book Review, about the pleasures of bad books.
I don't see why bad books shouldn't exist, but even when I'm enjoying something awful, I can't take more that three hours of it at the most before it ceases to be amusing. With a bad book you're in for 10-15 hours or more of badness, maybe.
He mentioned the volume "Loins of Telemachus"; I couldn't find it on Amazon, tho. Too bad — I've often wondered how the ancient Greeks did their barbecuin'....
