It's better this way The Grauniad does well with a bio on The Associates, a Bowie-meets-Sparks post-punk band with operatic vocals.

I'd have slapped this on big brother MeFi if the meat weren't here, with a quasi-dodgy sharity site for rarities and live tracks— I'm afraid too much traffic might kill it.
Cool. That reminds me, you might appreciate this. It's an archive of songs from a college/independent radio show I used to listen to. The files are low-bitrate but still listenable and ultra rare.

I never thought of the Associates as "Bowie meets Sparks" before, but that's not a bad comparison.

Especially Berlin Bowie.

And yeah, Jon, I love The Hound. Found 'em through FMU.

Yeah, I was going through the files and I found this killer called 'Daddy, Can I Go To The Hop,' and I was like 'Holy Crap, I was listening that night!' This may be the ultimate motherlode.
